Welcome to Ms. Ross' Classroom

Mrs. Ross is a 6th Grade teacher this year.  She has taught at John A. Johnson since the school opened in 2000.  She began her teaching career in El Paso, Texas in 1991.  Throughout her career, she has taught every grade:  Kindergarten through 6th.  She feels that her experiences at many grade levels have helped her become an effective teacher.  She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.  In June of 2011, she received her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in St. Paul.  She is currently enrolled at St. Mary's University working towards her Educational Specialist Degree.  In the future, she hope to be a principal.

Mrs. Ross is married with three children.  She has twin boys who are in 9th Grade and a daughter who is a Senior in high school.  She enjoys spending time with her family.  She enjoys walking and working out at the YMCA.  She really enjoys attending the Body Pump classes!  Mrs. Ross also like to cook, bake, and garden.  Her family likes to be outdoors enjoying campfires, four-wheeling, and snowmobiling.  She enjoys reading and writing.  Two of her favorite authors are Kate De'Camillo and Roald Dahl.  Mrs. Ross also has two dogs, a cat, and fish.

Mrs. Ross grew up in Roseville, Minnesota.  After graduating from college in 1991, she took her first teaching job in El Paso, Texas.  She lived and taught in El Paso for nine years.  In 2000, she moved back to Minnesota and became a teacher at Johnson.  Mrs. Ross loves the Southwest climate and culture.  Eventually, she would like to live near the ocean in a warm, sunny climate.

Mrs. Ross enjoys working at John A. Johnson Achievement Plus Elementary School.  She feels the school is unique because of the wrap-around services that are provided to students and the community.  These services are located within the school building.  This makes it convenient for everyone to get the help and support they need.  The Johnson school community is dedicated to helping students learn to high standards and be successful.

The best way to get in touch with Mrs. Ross is to call (651)793-7300 before or after school.  If you would like to meet in person, please call to set up an appointment.  Attending Fall and Spring Conferences, reading the Classroom Newsletter, and attending school events are good ways for JAJ families to stay involved in their student's education.
